Remko Bicentini has been the national coach of Curaçao again since August 2022.
Bicentini was also the national coach of Curaçao between 2016 and 2020 and during that period he was very successful. Under the leadership of the former NEC player, the island has experienced a brief rise in the FIFA rankings, qualifying for the Gold Cup three times. In the past two years, Bicentini has worked as an assistant national coach of Canada, qualifying for the previous World Cup.
“I am honored that my island is leaving me to do it again as national coach,” says Bicentini. ‘I have been able to work here for a long period of time with great pleasure and success. Football in Curaçao is still developing nicely and I am convinced that we can make the national team successful again. With the 2026 World Cup as our mission, we will do everything we can to achieve that.’
