As the Head of Commercial Affairs and Partnerships, you are responsible for the development and implementation of the commercial strategy and policy aimed at maximizing revenue from sponsorships, partnerships, merchandising, hospitality, and commercial rights. You identify and qualify commercial opportunities (nationally and internationally) that align with the organization’s mission.

You conduct negotiations for sponsorship and partner contracts and manage the full lifecycle of partnerships: acquisition, onboarding, activation, monitoring, evaluation, and renewal/termination. You are (jointly) responsible for commercial targets, revenue forecasts, P&L implications, and budget monitoring of commercial programs.

In the area of communications, you develop and implement an integrated communication strategy and policy, and draft communication plans regarding strategic projects and events. You advise the Board and Secretary-General on reputation, positioning, spokesperson duties, and other communication matters. You safeguard the brand identity, core messaging, and corporate style, and ensure timely and effective crisis communication. Finally, you lead the department’s employees, prepare budgets, monitor expenses, and compile management reports.

• Education: You hold a completed Bachelor’s (HBO) or Master’s (WO) degree in Communications, Commercial Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a similar field.  
• Experience: At least 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge: Broad theoretical knowledge in communications and commercial economics; demonstrable knowledge of corporate communications and reputation management. Experience with crisis communication, media relations, and acting as a spokesperson is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical, advisory, and problem-solving skills, as well as leadership abilities.  
• Competencies: You think strategically, are politically sensitive, and have the ability to convey complex messages clearly and persuasively. You possess strong social and communication skills, are discreet, organizationally sensitive, and reliable.
• Attributes: You are stress-resistant (especially in crisis situations) and possess excellent stakeholder management and networking skills. You are decisive in complex situations and have insight into governance within (sports) organizations.
• Preferences: Affinity with sports organizations – and football in particular – is a strong plus.  
• Languages: Excellent oral and written skills in Dutch and English. Proficiency in Papiamentu is highly preferred.
