Curaçao Women’s Football is on the rise!
“For the first time in history women in football have real opportunities in Curaçao.” Hassnah Elhage, Director of Football Operations at FFK explains that when she was growing up, there was nothing for young girls in football, while today the girls already talk about not only the empowering physical and mental benefits of the sport, but also aspiring to an actual professional career in football. That paradigm shift is a major leap forward and very promising for the future. Women’s football is the world’s fastest growing sport and FFK has pledged to create an infrastructure where girls and women can thrive in all areas of football. Our Women’s National Team will be participating at senior level on a bigger scale now, thanks to CONCACAF and FIFA’s commitment to create chances and investing in talent development. The FFK strives to engage women of all ages and is now working on a major marketing plan specifically tailored to the women’s game, with elements such as this miniseries that is coming up.
